Nurturing Your Love Together From New to Newly Wed
When you’ve been single for a really long time, or you’re trying to get over a bad breakup, it can be hard to get a new relationship going. You might be warier, or just not that bothered about getting to know new people. This doesn’t mean you should shy away from the experience of dating altogether. After all, you never know when you’ll feel that special spark for the one you’ll be with forever.
• First Dating Tips
There are plenty of ways to get an active dating scene happening in your life. Dating agencies make a fortune matching up people on their books. This can be one way to ensure that you have a date each week, but it isn’t your only option. You might choose online dating apps that give you a chance to chat by email or messenger for a while. This can give you a better idea of the personality of the person you might meet.
One of the best ways to get the first date is to ask for one. If you see someone you like, or you meet some people through mutual friends, don’t be afraid to explore that contact further. Set-ups from friends can backfire, but they are thought to be the best route to meeting the man of your dreams. Friends can get a little over-enthusiastic, though. If you’re not in a good place for a date, you should refuse. When the time is right, you’ll be in a better mood to welcome someone wonderful in your life.
• First Date Questions & Mistakes
So you’ve been on a date or two? Perhaps you’ve had dinner or just a coffee and a chat? Did you get the chance to ask your first date questions? What did you find out? If you don’t remember much about what they told you, chances are you’re not that into them. You might be just enjoying the socializing rather than the interests of the person you’re with. That’s OK. We don’t have to swoon at every person we meet. And nobody said you had to be dating this one person exclusively.
Of course, if you’ve been on a couple of dates and you’re really enjoying the time you’re spending with that person, you might choose to date exclusively. This stage of the relationship is pretty crucial if you’re looking for a long term thing. Avoid doing or saying anything you might regret later on. Sending risky photos is definitely worth avoiding. Think about the qualities you would want that perfect husband to have. What kind of wife do you want to be? Respect and decorum could be a big part of a permanent relationship, no matter how much fun you’re having now.
• A Healthy Relationship Advice
When you’ve been together a while, and you’re using the term girlfriend or partner, you know it’s serious. This is a good thing. It’s taken you a while to get to this place, and you’ve made a lot of sacrifices and adjustments. You may be spending a lot more time with each other now and becoming a big part of each other’s lives. This doesn’t mean you should give up the parts of your life that are important to you. If this is happening, then you may need to reset the boundaries or parameters of your relationship.
Independence is really important in a relationship. As you start to bond and become closer together, you need to make sure that you have time for yourself as well. Don’t give up or put aside your hobbies to be together more. These things are a part of who you are and your partner will love you even more for them. The same goes for him. Don’t be upset if he wants to do his own things. You can’t be joined at the hip all the time – that’s not a healthy relationship.
• When Should You Get Engaged?
When you’ve been together for an extended period of time, chances are you know each other pretty well. You may have spoken about the rest of your lives. Perhaps you already know how many children you want to have and the kind of home you’re going to build together. Getting engaged is a huge commitment that solidifies your relationship. It’s a short period of time for you to arrange a wedding and decide on your future together.
Now could be a good time to invest in some couples counseling. This will help you both see the bigger picture of your relationship and the future you’re hoping for. It’s not just for married couples going through some problems! Speaking with another impartial person about your hopes and dreams can help prepare you both for the road ahead. The period of engagement can be very stressful, and arguments are inevitable. A counselor can help you see the arguments for what they are and help you build and even stronger relationship.
• Steps to Planning a Wedding
The wedding is a huge event that you will have to do most of the planning and organizing for. This is hard work for the sake of a single day. But it is also the moment when you become married. Not all marriages last forever, but your promises and vows should be as honest as possible on the day. A strong couple can get through the changes that life throws your way. Perhaps one of your vows should include the notion that you’ll work to make it work?
This day is a chance to let all your friends, family and colleagues know just how much you love your partner. It is a celebration of that love and the start of your lives as a forever couple. Marriage isn’t always easy, but right now you have each other on the best day of your lives. This is a good place to start the next chapter of your relationship. Next comes the honeymoon. Choose something that is fun and romantic. These will be your first memories of being a married couple.
Nurturing a relationship from the first date to the day of your wedding takes a lot of patience. Marriage is no different. Don’t be afraid to spend time together and apart to help make you both stronger people.
Enjoy your lives together!
Your relationship advice seems a lot more helpful from the dating advice I offer on my blog. 🙂
A different point of view maybe?? LOL Thanks a lot for coming over, Austin 🙂
Very wise views and suggestions. Looks like you have been through it all. 🙂
I took this as relearning some important lesson of life which had faded away a bit in this hustle and bustle of life!
Oh, well I can’t relate. lol Not that I am bitter but I am plain single and just happy. But yeah, I certainly agree on finding one true love and how to nurture it. As for getting into marriage, counseling sure is the most important thing a couple shouldn’t miss. At least they can certain be firm on their decisions should they move forward or not.
