6 Ridiculously Cheap Ways To Looking Absolutely Drop-Dead Gorgeous

We all want to look our best, but spending loads of money on doing so is going to have the adverse effect. It’ll almost be oxymoronic. You see, if we spend a ton of cash on beauty products and spa-like services, then yes, we’ll look good for a day, but tomorrow we’ll look at our bank account and bam!… money stress will make our face go wrinkly, our skin go flabby and all our hair will turn gray and then fall out…. it’s not worth it!

Ridiculously cheap beauty and care products to make you look gorgeous …

Luckily, this isn’t the only option we have because I’ve done a little bit of snooping, a little bit of digging, and found out that you can be frugal and still look beautiful. Oh, yeah, I’ve found out some amazing quick-fixes and beauty hacks to make you look radiant, and the best of the best I have listed below for your pleasure and your pleasure only. Just think of them as DIY ways to looking absolutely, drop-dead gorgeous!

1. Your Hair is Mad for Mayonnaise

You will probably think I am more unstable than the Mad Hatter for suggesting this, but try using mayonnaise to protect your hair next time you go for a shower.

No, I didn’t get this advice from some hippie in a commune that knits their own granola, I actually got this advice from an interview with Blake Lively. Yeah, Blake Lively, the girl with the hair of ancient Greek gods goddesses. What she does is, she put mayo on the bottom half of her hair to protect it from the soap which, as we all know, strips hair of all it’s moisture, making it look like a battle maintained Barbie. If it is good enough for Blake it is good enough for us. Just make sure you rinse thoroughly.

2. The Allrounder Vaseline

I love products that have more than one purpose, and Vaseline is at the top of that list. All you need is a little bit of ingenuity and, voila, you have so many of your beauty needs right there with a small beige tub. What do I mean? Well, next time you dye your hair at home (which, if you really are being frugal, is the only way to dye your hair), use a finger-full of Vaseline as a barrier around your hairline, neck, and ears to stop the dye from staining your skin.

That’s the worst when that happens. Another thing it can be used for – in small but healthy doses – is taming even the most unruly of eyebrows. What else can it be used for? How about, umm, removing false eyelashes the pain-free way, giving your cheekbones a dewy finish, getting rid of cracked heels overnight, and giving your lashes a little more volume to name just a few.

 3. A Set Of Perfect Pearly Whites

More photos have been taken in the last year than in all the years before… combined! So how amazing would it be if you saw a camera pop up and you could just smile a picture-perfect smile without having to worry about your smile being slightly dull or discoloured? Unfortunately, the dentist is a no go because they charge three months rent or something stupid and no one wants to make a toothpaste out of baking soda.

Ah ha, that’s why you should visit teeth whitening at home tips because then you’ll realize you can get professional looking pearly whites for a small smidgen of the price, and you can get those results while slouched on the sofa watching yet another episode of New Girl. It’s perfect. In fact, the only thing more perfect will be your smile. Now, where is the camera at?

4. Charity Shop Hopping

We all wish we could splurge thousands of bucks on sexy new clothes that make us look a million bucks all the time. Of course, we do. Unfortunately, we can’t. But that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy a good old-fashioned shopping trip because charity shop hopping is one of the best ways to find hidden gems that’ll add to your allure for a teeny-tiny fee.

If you’re thinking, “ugh, no thanks,” and we’ve been there, then what you need to realise is a) most of the clothes you find in a charity shop are one day away from being snapped up by a vintage clothes store and being sold for twelve times the price and b) you are giving money to charity.

5. Getting the Tat-Tat Machine Out

Yep, I’m saying learn how to sew for yourself. Don’t worry, this is a skill that is way easier to pick up than you’ve always imagined. It’s just a matter of practice makes perfect. Start small by taking your bland old t-shirts and sewing a lace doily onto the hemline, arms, and neck (which will look absolutely amazing), and then slowly work your way up to proficient home-designer.

Not only will you be saving money and learning an enviable new skill, you will be able to make one-off items that no one else in the world has – items that are made to your exact measurements – a privilege that is usually reserved for celebrities.

6. Your Fruit Basket Has Answers

We all know that fruit is amazing for our skin when we digest it, but did you know your fruit bowl also has other hidden superpowers? Did you know that you can get amazing DIY beauty and care products out of your fruit basket?Let’s start with lemons. They say when life gives you lemons, turn them into lemonade, but I recommend is you turn them into nail varnish remover. Yup. If you’ve got a stubborn splurge of dark varnish refusing to come off your nail, then get a lemon and rub the peel on the annoying area.

Oh, and if you want to make the tips of your nails whiter then soak them in lemon juice. The next fruit on the agenda is oranges, which makes a super incredible exfoliator. I’m not sure why, but apparently it has something to do with the acid and Vit C. Anyway, just cut an orange in half and then rub it on your face, your knees, your elbows, and heels. It has to be the ultimate frugal to beautiful hack.

You can also use vaseline as a lip balm, lip gloss & as an eyelid primer … and it also soothes sore nostrils when you have a cold and your nose is bright red & sore!
