Do What you Want to Do and Do it Now!
Some random ‘Happy New Year Thoughts…
There is always something new to experience in life, but there are so many opportunities out there that it seems near-impossible to decide what that is. Surely, you have had your eye on something that you have never had the chance to experience before, but dreams and reality are two very different things.
People have different definitions of ‘making it’. You might believe that owning a house and living comfortably equals a successful life, whereas others may feel their life won’t be complete without seeing everything the world has to offer.
Or, even, there’s something about yourself and your life that you know needs to change, but taking that step towards achieving this has so far proven elusive.
• Settling down
The idea of settling down is not as close to the forefront as it once was. But that doesn’t mean that if this your ambition in life then you’re stuck in the past. Everyone wants different things, and with it being your life, there should be no one who can tell you how to live it.
Taking the leap towards settling down and starting a family is a big decision. But typically, by the time you have made this choice you are already well on your way. With a new year coming up, if you have been with your significant other for a substantial amount of time, there has never been a better opportunity to start researching on engagement- and weddingrings.
Have a look at the Tacori Engagement Ring Collection at Whiteflash, they’ve got some truly gorgeous items! Or are you thinking of finding a house to call your own, planning for future children? The added security that marriage and everything that comes with it brings could easily be that last piece of life’s puzzle.
• Seeing the world
Some people won’t be satisfied staying in one place their whole lives; they want to see what the rest of the world has to offer. It is true that finding the time to drop everything and jet off to the far side of the world can be challenging, but if you put it off for too long then you may end up regretting it.
Planning your travels can be intimidating. Where to go, what to see, and how to get there are all questions that have rolled around in travellers heads forever. For times like this, researching travel package deals can be a good start to give you an idea of what you need to do, even if you choose not to go ahead with the package and wing it, anyway.
• Changing your life
Every day, you wake up and look at yourself in the mirror and more than likely see a flaw. While other people may not notice it, you are still aware of it, and this can have an adverse effect on your confidence. Taking the opportunity to make a lifestyle change before it is too late could be the best decision you make over the next six months. Whether it be kicking bad habits, following your passions, or merely seeing more of those you love, making a change in your life can open the door to further opportunities and further happiness.
Wanting to be happy is a natural part of being human. You might think that it is too inconvenient right now, but the attitude of putting it off until tomorrow will only snowball into a problem. You deserve to be happy, and if there are things in life that you feel will make you happy, then there is no reason to avoid them any longer.
Remember, you deserve to be happy!
Although my January wasn’t great, February is being much kinder and I still believe 2018 will be awesome. You’re totally right, the more active you are in reaching for your goals, the more likely you are to achieve them. I hope 2018 is a great year for you! X
Thank you so much, Em. I hope your 2018 is a smashing one for you, too! 🙂
Thanks for sharing your post. I like your suggestions. I believe everyone should follow their own path. I hope you follow yours in 2018!
Aw, how nice, thank you so much, Gretchen! Yes, I will definitely follow my path in 2018 – just as I did in 2017, in 2016 and so many years before… 😉 I hope that 2018 will be an amazing year for you, may all you wish for come true and much more!
I love this this post. Very positive to start the year. Happiness is indeed found inside and not on materialistic things.
Thank you so much, Rea! I wholeheartedly agree with you, happiness doesn’t come along looking for us. It’s up to us to create a happy life with what is given to us.
